A new General Director of KMUK has been appointed!

On March 26, 2025, the event “The ceremony of the end of the activities of the rector Liu Byung Il and the inauguration of the new rector Li Yong Gwon of the Kyrgyz Institute of Languages and Cultures and the Kyrgyz International Universal College” was held.
Professor Liu Byung Il headed our educational institutions for 3 years, under his leadership, all educational areas and specialties were successfully accredited. The construction of a new educational building, the reconstruction of the heating system of the Kyrgyz International Universal College were started, and cooperation agreements were drawn up with universities in South Korea.
Mr. Li Yong Gwon was appointed to the post of rector of the Kyrgyz Institute of Languages and Cultures and the general director of the Kyrgyz International Universal College. Li Yong Gwon is a Doctor of Philological Sciences of the Russian language.
1990-1995 he worked as a professor of the Russian language department, Busan University.
From 1995 to the present day - professor of the Russian language department Philology at Pusan National University, and is also the President of the Korean Association of Slavic Languages.
The college was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Kim Kwangjae in support of students studying the Korean language.
